  • Creating simple information and data models

6 Architecture-relevant IT platforms 2.0 (ARP2) – (This course can also be booked individually)

  • Recognising possible applications of artificial intelligence (AI)

Consists of the following modules

Target audience

This course is aimed at software developers, IT architects and people at the interface between business and IT (domain experts, business analysts).

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (University, FH, ETH), degree of a higher education institution (HF) or advanced federal diploma of higher education
  • Basic knowledge of computer science and professional exposure to technical IT issues
  • Basic knowledge of object orientation concepts and key Unified Modelling Language (UML) notations is an advantage
  • Sur Dossier admissions are possible. These require sufficient professional experience relevant to the subject of the training course. Applicants are assessed individually (CV, interview). There is no right to admission.
Certification

You will receive the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) IT Architecture for this training course. The CAS and the 15 ECTS credits are awarded by the HWZ University of Applied Sciences Zurich.

You will complete the training course with a certificate thesis. Upon successful completion, our partner, the HWZ University of Applied Sciences Zurich, will award you the «Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) IT Architecture», worth 15 ECTS points.

The 15 ECTS credits correspond to a total workload of approximately 450 hours. With 16 teaching days, approximately 120 hours (4 ECTS credits) are allocated to classroom attendance and 30 hours (1 ECTS credit) to follow-up work on the course material. Approximately 330 hours (10 ECTS credits) are allocated to the certificate thesis. Here are the details of how the 10 ECTS credits for the certificate thesis are broken down:

Certificate thesis (project work)

  • Practice-based written assignment covering at least three IT architecture topics
  • Length: 50 A4 pages
  • 8 ECTS credits (approx. 240 hours of work)
  • Students choose a topic from their current and/or future working environment at the start of the training course
  • You will have approximately 6 months to complete the certificate thesis

Presentations on the certificate thesis

You can also obtain a certificate in Software Architecture (iSAQB – Certified Professional for Software Architecture – Foundation) and Enterprise Architecture (TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Part 1). Exam fees are included in the CAS price.
