Course facts
Download as PDF- Implementing robust exception handling with custom exceptions and `try-with-resources`
- Using the Builder pattern for complex objects
- Efficiently processing strings and applying regular expressions
- Using BigDecimal for precise financial calculations
- Using the Java Date/Time API for date and time processing and formatting
- Using functional interfaces and lambda expressions for elegant code
- Using the Collections Framework (List, Set, Map) for efficient data structures
- Strategically using AI tools for debugging, code review, and productive programming
Day 1: Building Robust Applications
You’ll delve deeper into exception handling with checked and unchecked exceptions, custom exception classes, and `try-with-resources`. You’ll learn about nested classes and the Builder pattern, and work with annotations, assertions, Lombok, Git basics, and Maven.
Day 2: Mastering the Java Standard Library
You’ll delve deeper into working with strings (StringBuilder, regex), master BigDecimal for precise calculations, and learn the Java Date/Time API for professional date and time handling. You’ll also cover wrapper classes, currency formatting, and reflection.
Day 3: Functional Programming and Collections
You’ll master lambda expressions and functional interfaces (Predicate, Function, Consumer, Supplier), work with Optional, and learn the Collections Framework in its entirety: ArrayList, HashSet, HashMap, and their algorithms.
Along the way, you’ll use AI tools as API assistants—to explore unfamiliar libraries, generate regex, and optimize lambda expressions.
The course combines theory and practice:
- Short theoretical sessions, live coding, and demos led by the instructor
- Numerous hands-on exercises with increasing levels of difficulty
- AI-supported exercises: API exploration, regex generation, lambda optimization
- Chapter exercises as practical mini-projects (configuration manager, payroll, Library 2.0)
- Interactive training with time for questions and discussions
Java developers with knowledge of OOP who want to acquire professional application skills:
- Developers who want to build robust, production-ready Java applications
- IT professionals who want to master the Java Standard Library and functional programming
Prerequisites include a basic understanding of Java equivalent to the «Java Foundation» course or comparable knowledge: variables, data types, control structures (if/else, loops), methods, simple classes, and objects.
All participants must have access to an AI text bot (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or Perplexity).
Please create a free AI account (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or Perplexity) before the course begins.
