Download as PDF- Creating and Configuring Spring Boot Applications from Scratch
- Developing, Validating, and Documenting RESTful APIs with Spring Web
- Connecting to Databases with Spring Data JPA and Modeling Entities
- Writing Query Methods and Custom Queries with @Query
- Securing Applications with Spring Security (Authentication, Authorization)
- Containerizing Spring Boot applications with Docker and orchestrating them with Compose
- Using AI tools for API design, JPA generation, and Docker configuration
Day 1: Spring Boot and REST APIs
Get acquainted with the Spring Framework and Spring Boot—dependency injection, IoC containers, auto-configuration, and starters. You’ll build REST APIs with Spring Web (@RestController, @GetMapping, @PostMapping), work with JSON/Jackson, and implement validation and error handling.
Day 2: Databases and Security
You’ll connect to databases using Spring Data JPA—entities, repositories, query methods, and relationships (@OneToMany, @ManyToOne). You’ll work with the H2 database for development and secure your API with Spring Security (authentication, authorization, roles, and permissions).
Day 3: Docker and Cloud Deployment
You’ll containerize your SpringBoot application with Docker (multi-stage build, Dockerfile) and orchestrate multi-container setups with Docker Compose (app + PostgreSQL). You’ll also gain an overview of CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployment (PaaS, container services, Kubernetes), and cloud-native alternatives (Quarkus, GraalVM) .
Throughout the course, you’ll use AI tools as development tools to design REST APIs and Swagger UI. You’ll also use AI to generate JPA entities and queries, as well as to create Dockerfiles and CI/CD configurations.
The course combines theory and practice:
- Short theoretical sessions, live coding, and demos led by the instructor
- Numerous hands-on exercises with increasing levels of difficulty
- AI-supported exercises: designing REST APIs, generating JPA entities, creating Dockerfiles
- End-to-end practical project: Task API—from REST through JPA and security to Docker deployment
- Interactive training with time for questions and discussions
Java developers with in-depth knowledge of streams, testing, and Maven who want to build enterprise applications using Spring Boot. This course is particularly suitable for:
- Developers who want to make the transition from Java applications to production-ready enterprise solutions
- IT professionals who want to master REST APIs, database connectivity, and cloud deployment with Spring Boot
Prerequisites include a solid knowledge of Java equivalent to the course «Modern Java: Streams, Testing & Concurrency» or comparable knowledge: the Streams API, unit testing with JUnit 5, Maven project management, and a basic understanding of concurrent programming.
All participants must have access to an AI text bot (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or Perplexity).
