Step 1
  • One of the biggest mistakes in practice is the lack of concretization in the company of who actually constitutes a talent. Without this specification and the answer to the question 'Who or what is a talent?' there is no talent management.
Step 2
  • Quite a few companies place talent management in the Talent Acquisition department, while others place it in the talent development department. However, talent management is more than «just» the performance of these two functions. Learn what talent management means and what components a holistic talent management concept includes.
Step 3
  • Responsibilities and accountabilities are always an issue, but who is responsible for holistic talent management in the company? What does the organization look like and what is a talent manager responsible for in the company and what competencies and skills should they have?
Step 4
  • Once the talent management concept is in place and the responsibilities and competencies have been clarified, the question arises as to how the talent identification process should be designed and which criteria are decisive for the internal/external talent selection process.
Step 5
  • Holistic talent management is based on the four key areas of action, namely attracting talent (=attraction), deploying talent (=placement), developing talent (=development) and retaining talent (=retention). What are the main fields of action here and which instruments are used successfully?
