Course facts

  • Learning to perform the initial configuration of an SD-WAN and automate it through Zero Touch Provisioning
  • Applying templates for convenient configuration of large networks
  • Deploying policies to centrally control routing and traffic routing
  • Knowing methods to optimize cloud applications

In many company networks, there is a desire to use a high-performance and equally low-cost Internet connection for site coupling in addition to a high-class MPLS connection. On the one hand, the traffic should be secured and, on the other hand, it should be routed dynamically over the different transport networks depending on the requirements of the applications. Cisco's SD-WAN solution (formerly Viptela) addresses these needs by building an IPSec-based overlay network in which automated site integration, routing, and management are centrally controlled by multiple controllers.

  • Components and architecture of the Cisco SD-WAN solution
  • Integration of a vEdge router into the SD-WAN
  • Configuration on IOS XE routers (ExperTeach add-on)
  • Zero Touch Provisioning
  • Registration of devices on the PnP Connect Portal (ExperTeach Add-On)
  • Deployment options for the Control Plane
  • Creating templates for configuration
  • Configuring and monitoring overlay routing
  • Create policies for traffic flow control
  • Service Chaining (ExperTeach Add-On)
  • Migration strategies (ExperTeach Add-On)
  • Connection to cloud environments

The course is aimed at Cloud and Cloud Consumer Administrators, Cloud Engineers, DevOps Engineers, System Engineers and Solution Architects who want to gain insights into Viptela technology.

Participants should have basic knowledge of Enterprise WAN Design, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP-4), and TLS and IPSec.
