Some of the new features can also be found in older versions, but they appear here because they were either backported into 19c or were introduced so secretly and quietly that they practically flew «under the radar» and hardly anyone noticed them.

The focus is of course on the features that were introduced or improved with Oracle Database 23ai. The course covers administrative as well as development-specific innovations.

Oracle database administrators, including experienced Oracle developers or architects who operate/develop Oracle databases and/or applications on them and want to know what possibilities the latest versions offer.

For a workshop with participants from different companies (participants must take care of Oracle licensing themselves), the basics of Oracle database administration are a prerequisite

In a workshop with participants from a single company, at least one Oracle DBA should attend to carry out the pure DBA exercises. All other participants can be developers or architects.

Course environment (and Oracle license requirements)

• Supported Oracle versions: Oracle 23ai of course. Features that require more than a standard edition license or an additional package are priced separately.
• This workshop is based on Oracle Database 23ai Free. Further information on the course environment and Oracle licensing can be found here.
• SQL*Plus is used as the front end. The use of Oracle SQL*Developer or one of the numerous third party tools (Toad, SolarWind etc) is partially possible, but leads to different exercise sequences.
