Course facts
- Understanding the architecture of local IT networks, focusing on the predominant Ethernet protocol suite
- Knowing and having practical experience of VLANs
- Gaining hands-on skills on how to deploy, configure and troubleshoot installations with network hardware of different brands
- Gaining profound real-life knowledge about connecting local networks across sites and to the Internet / Cloud
- Understand technical concepts and architecture of local IT networks, including the predominant Ethernet protocol suite, switches, VLAN and TCP/IP based connectivity
- Ability to construct and deploy from scratch local IT networks, connected in a multi-site set-up
- Real life knowledge about network hardware, protocols (VLAN in particular), uplinks and connectivity to the Internet / Cloud
- Hands-on knowledge about techniques and tools used for building and troubleshooting local networks, including using traffic capturing tools (Wireshark)
Theory follows practical exercises not vice versa. The course is based on practical exercises, done with real hardware of different brands provided.
Learning among participants by sharing experience gained is explicitly fostered.
Due to real hardware used in the exercises on-site presence in one of our training sites is required for this course.

This course is aimed at professionals working in technical IT, tasked with working with local IT networks as well as IT architects, project heads, solutions designers who want to gain advanced, technical and practical skills regarding local networks.
