Understanding Cisco Collaboration Foundations («CLFNDU»)

• Understanding the use and support of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CM) solutions with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) gateway across multiple sites
• Understanding the management of devices, including phones and video endpoints
• Understanding the management of user and media resources
• Understanding the maintenance and troubleshooting tools for Cisco Unified Communications solutions
• Understanding the basics of SIP dial plans, including the connection to Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) services and the use of Class of Service features

This course provides the basic knowledge required to participate in the CCNP Collaboration certification courses. This course is recommended for newcomers to Cisco On-Premise Collaboration technologies, but not for exam preparation.

• Introduction of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager and initial parameters
• Exploration of the endpoints and the registration process
• Research into codecs and call signalling
• User administration in Cisco Unified Communication Manager
• Describing a basic dial plan
• Describing the service class
• Activating endpoints and functions
• Description of Cisco ISR as a voice gateway
• Explore Cisco Unified Communication Manager media resources
• Reporting and maintenance
• Examine additional requirements for video endpoints
• Description of the Cisco Unity connection

This course is designed for network and system administrators as well as system integrators.

This is a beginner course. There are no specific requirements, but the following knowledge is recommended: Knowledge of Internet Web browser usability and general computer use, and knowledge of the Cisco Internetwork Operating System (Cisco IOS®) command line.

This course does not include a certification.
