Social Engineering («SOCENG»)
Course facts
No other information security issue illustrates more clearly than social engineering that protecting information is not solely an IT concern. Attacks can be carried out over the phone or without the use of technology. They involve the psychological manipulation of victims to obtain information, compromise systems or steal money.
Some of these methods are clever and devious, and can be carried out at minimal cost. Victims often do not report successful attacks out of shame, meaning situations are either not addressed or addressed too late, and organisations are unable to learn from them. The best defence against these attacks is to have knowledgeable, attentive and confident employees who can recognise, ward off and report them.
The training aims to teach participants how social engineering attacks work, making them more aware of these situations. Depending on the training's desired duration, participants will gain an understanding of the types of attacks they may be susceptible to based on their personality type. This workshop focuses on protecting your organisation from social engineering attacks.
