Business simulation
A business simulation serves as a common thread for the concepts and activities throughout the course. You will “work” as a platform owner for a simulated company. In doing so, you will learn about the strategic goals, challenges, and overall organizational structure of the company. You will then go through three rounds of business challenges in a total of eleven different scenarios.
Capability Bursts
Between the individual simulation phases, you will focus on developing your skills as a platform owner. These so-called capability bursts are focused learning units that serve to convey key concepts, stimulate discussion, and promote competence-building activities.
Interactive discussions
Discussions will take place in plenary sessions throughout the course. The workshop is designed to actively involve you in the exchange of ideas on the key concepts taught. You should expect to participate actively in the discussions.
Team and individual activities
During the workshop, you can expect a variety of skill-building activities and simulation phases, some of which will be carried out individually and some in small teams. Regular breakout sessions within the teams provide an entertaining, collaborative, and slightly competitive element within the business simulation.
The «Adopting a Platform Owner Mindset» workshop is aimed at customers, partners, and employees. It is ideal for anyone who already works as a platform owner or aspires to this role. It also appeals to experienced ServiceNow specialists, such as process owners, product owners, and system administrators. You will learn to better understand the concerns of a platform owner and to think holistically about the platform within your organization.
The maximum number of participants for this workshop is 24. For closed (private) training courses, a minimum of 10 participants is required.
- Practical experience in the administration and/or implementation of the ServiceNow platform
- Familiarity with typical business challenges that the ServiceNow platform can help solve

Differentiators
This workshop is unlike most other ServiceNow workshops in that it is more comparable to a leadership workshop than a technical hands-on workshop. That’s due to the nature of the Platform Owner role. We assume participants have solid experience with the platform when enrolling in this course, which enables the workshop to focus on those differentiating capabilities that the best platform owners are good at.
There is no video on YouTube or other ServiceNow course that can provide you with the immersive experiences and challenges that this workshop provides to prepare you to adopt a platform owner mindset.
