Overview
OMG standards are driven by manufacturers, end users, academic institutions and government organizations. The OMG Task Force develops integration standards for a wide range of technology and for various industries.
In software development, the object-oriented approach has become established for many areas. The standard notation for object-oriented models is the «Unified Modeling Language (UML)». Models in UML are an important technology tool in the development of software and an important means of communication within and between software development teams and between IT professionals (architects and software developers) and all other stakeholders in the software development process. Therefore, UML knowledge is also important for project managers, users, analysts, quality assurance officers, etc. to understand the corresponding object-oriented models and communicate with the IT side.
