Peter Christen completed an apprenticeship as an electronics technician specializing in digital electronics. He then worked for Ascom as a programmer of measuring robots for the final testing of microprocessors, which is how he entered the world of Unix. After leaving Ascom, he worked for several years as a Unix engineer for various computer companies such as HP, Sun, Unisys, and Compaq in Switzerland and also for their European branches. In 2000, he began working part-time as a trainer at Digicomp for UNIX operating system training, having already conducted HP customer training courses for UNIX, volume management, and high-availability systems.
For more than ten years, he has also been teaching Linux courses, primarily LPIC1, as a Certified Linux Professional, and Python courses as a Certified Associate in Python Programming. In his main job, Peter Christen works as a freelance Certified Project Manager IPMA B and manages projects in the areas of Unix, Linux, databases, and networks. He uses Python primarily for processing and managing large amounts of data in connection with Sqlite and Excel.
